About the Heat
The Vancouver Heat is a 8th grade, non-profit, Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) girls basketball team. All of the Heat players live in the greater Vancouver, Washington area. The team began playing in a recreational basketball league five years ago, and has gradually progressed to play at an extremely high level of competition.
The philosophy of the Heat is based on the following principles:
- Value each child as a person first, and a player second
- Develop children to be the best basketball players they can be
- Teach children the value of participating in a team sport
- Make each child feel that they are a valued part of the team
The Heat will strive to win all games, but that is not the focus of the program. The ultimate goal is to provide the players with best instruction and experience possible to prepare them to play basketball at higher levels. Additionally, the program will attempt to teach the players the individual commitment necessary to being a successful team.
Please feel free to take a tour of our site to learn more about our program!
